First Week

Depsite some high winds and heavy seas of the first two days, the first week turned out pretty good. We caught alot of very nice fish and everyone had a good time. There are some new bells and whistles on the boat and everything went well. I was especially thankful to have my son, Capt David Sharp along on several of the trips to assist.
As we move into the second week, there is every indication that the fishing will remain as strong as before. I certainly hope so. If nothing else, it was really good to see some old friends and meet some new folks as well.

Pre Season

It is hard to believe that tomorrow is April 1. After a very long winter, I am ready to start fishing as soon as possible. This year, the trophy season will start on April 17. In my opinion, due to a great job by the DNR to manage the striped bass fishery, the size and number restrictions will remain the same as last year. During the trophy season, the minimum size will be 28" and each angler on the boat will be allowed one fish. After the trophy season, the minimum size will be 18" with each person on the boat being allowed two fish.
After a short stint in the yard to get a spring refit, we put the boat back in the water yesterday. Over the next two weeks, finishing touches to get ready for the season will be completed and on opening day, we will be ready to go.
Bookings are very solid for the trophy season, but there are still a few days open. Look at the calendar and give me a call if you would like to go fishing.
As always,
Capt John
